Following the departure of Joris van Overeem to FC Utrecht, Heerenveen is looking for a new midfielder to fill the gap. The focus is on Lanrooy Machine, a 20-year-old player from Ligue 1 who plays for Angers SCO. Although Machine only scored one goal in 22 appearances for his club, Heerenveen scouts are convinced of his potential and have already held talks with him.
This comes at the same time as Marcus Linday might also be leaving. The 23-year-old Swede is contracted until mid-2029 with Heerenveen, but a bid of five million euros has been offered and Braga is not giving up. Linday himself would also like to make a move.
Moreover, Heerenveen is interested in Dirk Proper from NEC, who is currently 29 years old. He could be a strong option to fill the void left by Joris van Overeem's departure. Philippe Rommens of Ferencvaros is also being considered, although he is older than Proper.
In the attacking department, there is also a need for a striker. Cedric Hatenboer from Anderlecht stands out as a candidate, who was on loan to Telstar last season.
The club hopes for an international move by Luuk Brouwers and Ringo Meerveld could still be interesting. The 23-year-old Linday only joined Heerenveen in January 2025 but has since made excellent progress.
There is also concern over Joris van Overeem, who has moved to FC Utrecht. Who would you choose? The future lies in the balance for these players and clubs.
