Heerenveen will be missing a key player for Saturday's Eredivisie trip to Sparta Rotterdam. Midfielder Dirk Wanner Proper is ruled out with an injury and is not expected back until October 10th.

The manager must now adjust his plans for the match at Sparta Stadion Het Kasteel. Proper also missed last weekend's 0-0 draw with Telstar. His absence is a significant blow for a side struggling to find wins, having drawn three and lost two of their last five league games.

Heerenveen currently sit 11th in the table with six points from six matches. Their Saturday opponents, Sparta Rotterdam, occupy 12th place. The last meeting between the sides, in February, ended in a 2-1 victory for Heerenveen.

Last week's lineup against Telstar provides a clue for the selection. Klaverboer was in goal, behind a defence of Braude, Kersten, Willemsen and Zagaritis. Smans and Courtens formed the midfield pivot, with Trenskow, Meerveld and Rivera operating behind striker Vente. Without Proper, creativity will need to come from elsewhere. The match kicks off on Saturday at 18:45 local time.
