Jacob Trenskow continued his fine form for sc Heerenveen with a goal in the Eredivisie. The Danish winger found the net in the match against Sparta Rotterdam.

Heerenveen's attack received a boost on Saturday thanks to Trenskow's strike. The player, who has been a consistent presence since the start of the campaign, scored the important goal that put manager Kees van Wonderen's side ahead. "He is in excellent condition and shows it on the pitch every week," Van Wonderen said afterwards.

The victory was significant for Heerenveen, who before the match sat in eleventh place with six points from six games. The Frisian club had recorded just one win this season, alongside three draws and two defeats. Their form over the last five matches was DLDLD, with the most recent result a 0-0 draw against Telstar on September 13.

Trenskow's goal followed earlier strikes from the Dane this season. He had previously scored in the 2-2 draws against Willem II and Ajax. In the home defeat to AZ Alkmaar (2-3), however, it was Nick Courtens and Rik Meerveld who got Heerenveen's goals.

With seven goals scored and nine conceded, Heerenveen have a negative goal difference of minus two. They trail league leaders PSV Eindhoven by ten points. The next task for the Frisians comes quickly, with a visit to a Sparta Rotterdam side sitting twelfth. The full schedule is available on the fixtures page.

Van Wonderen's team will be hoping for a turnaround in results. The coming weeks will be decisive for their position in the lower half of the table, which supporters can always follow via our standings. The next home match is scheduled for the final weekend of September.
